PA president says Palestinians recognize state of Israel, not its Jewishness; warns Islamic extremism could reach Israel if no deal
By Tamar Pileggi April 4, 2015 - The Times of Israel - Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that he was ready to resume peace negotiations with Israel without preconditions, in a marked departure from comments made last month ruling out the possibility of negotiating a two-state solution while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in power. In an interview with the pan-Arab media outlet al-Arab from Ramallah, Abbas expressed his support for a two-state solution and peace with Israel: “I tell the Israeli people: our hands are outstretched to exist in two states. I hope that you do not cut down the outstretched hand of peace, because the alternative will be devastating for everyone.” Abbas said that he had “no problem” returning to negotiations with Netanyahu as the representative of the Israeli people — “without preconditions.” Continued:

There may never be peace in the Middle East, but President Barack Obama is making sure that the countries of Israel and Iran know where they stand in his eyes. In a plea presented Friday to the State Department, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked that the Iran nuclear agreement have a strong and clear recognition of the Jewish nation’s right to exist. Although nice to hear, it’s clear that Obama and Netanyahu have very different ideas about what sort of nuclear deal with Iran is or is not a threat to Israeal. Moreover, for Obama to sign this deal so close to Passover shows a complete disregard for the strong relationship that has always existed between the United States and Israel.
Obama knows that requiring Iran to accept Israel’s existence would kill any hope of a lasting nuclear deal because Iran remains dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish state.
Clearly, to Obama, a nuclear deal with Iran - one which will never stand the test of time anyway - is more important than the security of Israel. This is no surprise, but it’s a little shocking that the president would so clearly articulate his faulty priorities. Continued:

By Alon Bernstein - 4.6.2015 Huffington Post - JERUSALEM (AP) — A senior Israeli government minister on Monday warned that taking military action against Iran's nuclear program is still an option — despite last week's framework deal between world powers and the Islamic Republic. The comments by Yuval Steinitz, Israel's minister for strategic affairs, reflected the alarm in Israel over last week's deal, which offers Iran relief from economic sanctions in exchange for scaling back its suspect nuclear program. Israeli leaders believe the framework leaves too much of Iran's nuclear infrastructure intact and could still allow it to develop the means to produce a nuclear weapon.
Steinitz, a confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's, said the government would spend the coming months lobbying the world powers negotiating with Iran to strengthen the language in the deal as they hammer out a final agreement. While stressing that Israel prefers a diplomatic solution, he said the "military option" still exists.
"It was on the table. It's still on the table. It's going to remain on the table," Steinitz told reporters. "Israel should be able to defend itself, by itself, against any threat. And it's our right and duty to decide how to defend ourselves, especially if our national security and even very existence is under threat."
Israel considers a nuclear-armed Iran to be a threat to its survival, pointing to years of Iranian calls for Israel's destruction, its support for anti-Israeli militant groups and its development of long-range ballistic missiles that could be armed with nuclear warheads. Israel — which is widely believed to be a nuclear power — says a nuclear-armed Iran would set off an arms race in the world's most volatile region.
The framework agreement was announced last Thursday in Switzerland after years of negotiations between Iran and world powers. The deal aims to cut significantly into Iran's bomb-making technology while giving Tehran relief from international sanctions. The commitments, if implemented, would substantially pare down Iranian nuclear assets for a decade and restrict others for an additional five years. Iran would also be subject to intrusive international inspections.

March 28, 2015 - Russia will help Palestine in achieving its goal of becoming an independent state with the capital in East Jerusalem, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday in his address to the Arab League summit participants. “Russia will continue contributing to the attainment of this goal [Palestine’s independence], working through bilateral channels and through multilateral channels, including in the ‘Quartet’ of international mediators,” Putin said.
The Quartet comprising Russia, the United States, the United Nations and the European Union, was established in 2002, aiming to reach a long-term peace agreement between Israel and Palestinians.

Mike Lander, Pray4Zion Prayer
Shalom Dear Friend and Partner of Israel, We send greetings to you and your family and pray God’s amazing abundant blessing and favour upon your lives each day. Thank you for being a great blessing to Israel through Pray4Zion we want you to know that you are making the difference. Every prayer for Israel, love and support for God’s Chosen people sincerely must please God.
Please don’t grow weary [...] We believe that March is going to be a very interesting and prophetic month! The speech which Israeli Prime Minister will be speaking in front of a joint session of Congress on the 03rd and falls out a day before the Jewish Fast of “Taanit Esther” (The fast of Esther). Each year before Purim Jews around the world fast to commemorate the three day fast days in the Book of Esther before Esther pleaded before the King not to kill the Jews.
Is it not symbolic that Netanyahu is making this historic speech at the same time that the Jews are fasting and remembering the story of Purim when the nation of Israel was almost destroyed?
Netanyahu is worried about Iran destroying Israel. Iran is modern day Persia and the story of Purim took place in Persia. Just like today, God was “hidden” in the story of Purim (His Name is not even mentioned once in the Book of Esther). Yet just like the story of Purim, we are convinced that God will come through for Israel, the Jewish nation.
If there is one thing that no one could dispute, is the fact that history repeats itself! Jewish Holidays come to teach us all a lesson that is relevant for every generation. As Bibi Netanyahu prepares for his speech in congress to try and halt modern Persia bent on Israel’s destruction… we need to remember this Scripture: Esther 4:14, “If you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows that you have come to royal position ‘for a time such as this!”
Whilst US President Obama is supporting a boycott of Bibi Netayahu and not even the vice president will attend the talks. There are also conflicting reports he has stopped all contact with the Israeli government concerning the Iranian negotiations! Time will tell! On the 20th March we have the full Solar Eclipse which precedes the 3rd (of 4) Blood Moon Tetrad at Passover on the 04th April.
Obama speaks about extremism without labelling it Islam. He knows he can frame the debate where he can rope Christianity into the extremist debate. However, his version of Islam he is portraying in the media is very incorrect. Firstly, Islam that infiltrates ISIS, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others are filled with apocalyptic beliefs that motivate them to behead, burn, and destroy their enemies through force. This is not new in Islam. Islam is riddled with violence which traces their history all the way back to Mohammed. Mohammed was a general of an army as much as a religious leader. He encouraged the violence found in Islam that continues today. Islam’s history is full of lies, violence, and conquests. There is a reason why the history books call Mohammed’s influence the Muslim Empire. The Christian Crusaders fought back the Muslims in Spain and on the outskirts of Constantinople in the medieval times. If the Muslims did not fight their way into Europe, there would be no Crusades in the Holy Land. Satan has used Islam to destroy huge segments of Christianity in North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Today, Satan is using it to destroy Christianity in the Western World.
Obama is a man heavily influenced by Islam himself, ostracizes Christians and Jews, but this helps explain why ISIS bent upon their Radical Islam believes that this ideology should be accepted by all. It is as if Obama believes that it was Christians who were beheading Muslims in the Middle East…? The problem with the world is Islam, period! This narrative that Obama is painting is being used to eradicate Christian influence in Western society. What little Christianity is influencing society is certainly being eradicated by Obama and he could very well be one of the forerunners to the Antichrist bringing war to the mountains of Israel …God’s land and people just as prophesied in the Bible for end-times!
Friends, don’t be deceived. You were bought with a price, and your Lord will always be with you. Your life is more precious than metals, money, and the glories of this world. He has you… He forever has you, no matter how bad the world gets. God bless you always, Alf & Julie
Please pray with us :
1. We need to keep Israel in our hearts and prayers as this is the only civilized democratic nation in the Middle East fighting daily for its very existence. We are all called to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem!” Psalm 122:6 and God has promised us that those who pray for Israel will be blessed. When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem we are also praying for the return of our Lord since there will never be peace in Israel until the Prince of Peace returns!
2. Pray for PM Bibi Netanyahu for the upcoming elections on the 17th March as he is facing great backlash from the US Obama Administration for accepting this invitation by the US Congress to talk at their meeting on 4th March in the US about the dangers of Iran getting a nuclear bomb and Radical Islam. At the same time there is a conspiracy by Obama Administration who have sent Obama’s campaign manager to Israel to work with the opposition parties in Israel to prevent PM Netanyahu from being re-elected in the coming Israeli elections. He is facing a lot of opposition for his stance against terrorism so we need to pray that he will be re-elected and that he will stand strong in this very hostile neighbourhood. Please pray for his protection Psalm 91 and for Israel.
3. Please pray for the persecuted Christians in Iraq and Syria and across the Middle East as they are facing persecution of an unprecedented level from ISIS.
4. Please pray against the evil of anti-Semitism that is spreading across Europe… also against Christian persecution and the evils of Islamist organizations such as Hamas, Fatah, Al-Qaeda, ISIS/ISIL, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Boko Haram, Khorosan, Muslim Brotherhood and others… they are all from the same poisonous tree!
5. Please pray for our nation South Africa that God will raise up strong Godly leaders and those who will stand firm with Israel to be Biblically correct and our nation be blessed …rather than politically correct and be cursed (Genesis 12:3).
Should you need prayer : please feel free to contact me (Mike) as it is our privilege to stand in agreement with you for a breakthrough - We have had many praise reports! Once a month Alf & Julie go to pray in Jerusalem for Israel and ALL our partners… and place the prayer requests received on the Western Wall.
On behalf of our families to yours and on behalf of all of us at Pray4Zion … “May the LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel , and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:24 - 27

March 13, 2015 - A spokesman in Australia for the extreme Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir threatened to make Jews “pay with blood” in a sermon posted online earlier this month, the UK’s Daily Mail reported.
“They are the most evil creatures of Allah…More corruption is linked to the Jews,” Ismail al-Wahwah said in the video uploaded on March 3. “They will pay with blood for blood, with tears for tears, and with destruction for destruction.”
Al-Wahwah went on to say that recognizing the Jewish people and giving them “even a single inch of Palestine constitutes the epitome of evil because this will strengthen that cancerous entity.” He accused Israel of going “hand in hand with evil and disobedience” since its creation, and of founding prostitution, gambling and usury.
“There is only one solution for that cancerous tumor: It must be uprooted and thrown back to where it came from,” al-Wahwah said in the video.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, New South Wales (NSW) Communities Minister Victor Dominello called the video “deeply disturbing” and “hateful and derisive.” Dominello said the comments are an abuse of freedom of speech in Australia, and told News Corp, “[It] has no place in our harmonious multicultural society.”

Jeremy Bender and Michael B Kelley - Mar. 17, 2015 - A disturbing sign of Iran's growing influence in Iraq and beyond was highlighted on March 8 during a seminar titled "The Iranian Identity," Bloomberg View reports. "Iran is an empire once again at last, and its capital is Baghdad," said Ali Younusi, an adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei.
Iraq, particularly the eastern and southern regions of the country with a majority Shia population, has tended to fall within the orbit of Iran's influence. During the Iran-Iraq war (1980 to 1988), Iran funded Shiite militias with the aim of overthrowing Saddam Hussein's government.
The two countries ultimately ground each other into a stalemate. But after the American invasion and subsequent withdrawal from Iraq, Iran's ability to project power into Iraq has only grown. Here are various ways in which Iran is constantly expanding its power in Iraq: The formation of Shiite militias. Continued:

Michael B Kelley - Mar. 5, 2015 - The US-led fight against the Islamic State relies increasingly on Iran and its proxies, and that has created an uncomfortable de facto alliance with an Iranian military mastermind with American blood on his hands.Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, the head of Iran's Quds Force, the foreign arm of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), has been pictured on the frontlines for the past couple of months. Most recently he has been seen in Tikrit, the hometown of Saddam Hussein now controlled by the Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL),
which is under siege by Iran-backed militias. US assistance is nowhere to be found.
"There's just no way that the US military can actively support an offensive led by Suleimani," Christopher Harmer, a former aviator in the United States Navy in the Persian Gulf who is now an analyst with the Institute for the Study of War, told Helene Cooper of The New York Times. "He's a more stately version of Osama bin Laden."
Nevertheless, the US military sees Iranian involvement as "a positive thing" — as long as Shia-Sunni tensions don't get out of hand.
"This is the most overt conduct of Iranian support, in the form of artillery and other things," Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday. "Frankly, it will only be a problem if it results in sectarianism." Continued:

March 13, 2015 - Dore Gold - There are increasing indications that Western powers will seek to renew Israeli-Palestinian negotiations right after the Israeli elections. A Haaretz diplomatic correspondent reported on March 6 that senior White House officials had told him that a new initiative was under consideration. EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini is also expected to appoint an envoy to deal with the renewal of negotiations.
At the end of December 2014, the UN Security Council rejected a draft resolution that demanded a 12-month deadline for completing negotiations. The future borders between Israel and a new Palestinian state, according to the proposal, were to be based on the 1967 borders with “limited” land swaps.
The new resolution, if adopted, could be argued by some as superseding UN Security Council Resolution 242 from November 1967, which never required Israel to withdraw from all the territories it captured in the Six-Day War. Instead, it called for “secure and recognized boundaries” instead. In the years that followed, American presidents further clarified the meaning of Resolution 242 by explicitly stating that it did not require full withdrawal. Though the Palestinians initially failed to replace 242, they are expected to renew their efforts to drum up UN support for their draft resolution, now that new members have joined the Security Council in 2015.
Why should Israel be concerned about all these initiatives? After all, according to those who were involved in the last round of talks, it was Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas who rejected US Secretary of State John Kerry’s framework agreement in March 2014 during a meeting with US President Barack Obama in the Oval Office. The pressure should be on the Palestinian side. But unfortunately, since 2009, a pattern has emerged. At that time, Abbas wanted negotiations with Israel to pick up where they left off with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who offered unprecedented concessions before he resigned. There was no signed agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, but Abbas wanted to pocket Olmert’s proposed concessions and then demand that Israel go even further.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to accept the Olmert document. In an effort to persuade Abbas to come to the negotiating table, the Obama administration came up with a series of gestures that Israel would offer the Palestinians: a 10-month construction freeze in the settlements, prisoner releases, and declarations by the US or the Quartet that were to be based on Palestinian territorial demands (lately these have been misrepresented as Israeli positions for political purposes).

March 13, 2015 - Yoram Ettinger - Contrary to US President Barack Obama’s policy, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt are convinced, just as Israel is, that the transformation of Iran from a rogue regime to a law-abiding one should constitute a prerequisite to - not an outcome of - an agreement with Iran. Otherwise, an agreement would pave the way, rather than block it, for Iran to become a rogue nuclear power.
Unlike Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, and just like Israel, Saudi Arabia is not preoccupied with the technical and procedural aspects of the agreement, but with the regional and global rogue, expansionist, subversive, terrorist, non-compliant, anti-American (“Death to America Day”) track record of the ayatollahs since 1979, their gradual occupation and domination of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, their cooperation with North Korea and Venezuela, and their sponsorship of Islamic terrorism via al-Qaida, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other Islamic terrorist organizations operating throughout the world, including on the US mainland.
Saudi Arabia focuses on the compounded threat to regional and global sanity that would be caused by a nuclear Iran. Just like Israel - and contrary to the White House policy of detente with Iran - Saudi Arabia and the pro-US Arab countries are convinced that the lawless track record of the ayatollahs does not lend itself to effective supervision (as attested by the failed supervision of North Korea and Pakistan), that a bad deal is dramatically worse than no deal, and that a nuclear Iran must be prevented at any cost and not just contained. They are convinced that clipping the wings of the ayatollahs constitutes a precondition to a regime change in Iran, halting the tide of global Islamic terrorism and sparing the globe the pain of a nuclear world war.
On the other hand, legitimizing and strengthening the ayatollahs precludes a regime change, intensifying the egregious, systematic abuse of civil liberties, including the expanding phenomenon of public executions. According to the editor-in-chief of the leading Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat, which reflects the worldview of the house of Saud, “The Iranian regime has every reason to be dancing on the rooftops” (March 9). He asserts that an agreement with Iran would effectively reward the ayatollahs for terrorizing the Gulf region and the Middle East at large, while wreaking havoc in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Bahrain. Jerusalem Court Ruled That Jews Can Pray On The Temple Mount - A Red Flag To Any Muslim
NEWS BRIEF: "Jerusalem Court Rules: Jews Can Pray on Temple Mount", Israel Today, 3/15/2015
"The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court reaffirmed earlier this month that it is legal for Jews (and, therefore, Christians) to pray atop the Temple Mount, despite violent Muslim opposition ... Israel’s Supreme Court had previously ruled that Jews do in fact have the right to pray in any and every place, as do adherents of all faiths, but that police could take measures to avoid violent Muslim backlashes atop the Temple Mount. The Jerusalem court determined that the police had gone too far in its handling of Glick and other activists, and had crossed the line by impinging on Jews’ basic human rights."
Indeed, over the past 40 years, Israeli police has routinely bent over backwards to keep the Muslims happy. They would always allow Muslims to pray at the Temple Mount, but would forcefully prevent the Jew from praying there -- even though the Bible gave the Temple Mount to the Jews FOREVER!
When any Jew approaches the Temple Mount, the word spreads amongst the Arab crowd and a riot threatens to break out. Now that the police must guarantee any Jew who wants to pray there, Muslims are likely to riot and keep rioting until Israeli authorities relent and keep the Jews away. Islamic riots can spread so quickly and so powerfully that Israel may find itself trying to fend off all-out war -- at least a war that starts internally.
Did you know that the Islamic War Plan envisions that the final war against Israel will begin with an internal uprising? Listen to this House of Representatives' article of 1996, as they speak to the Arab plan to finally destroy Israel.
"Within Israel and on its borders, Arafat's 'Palestinians' will cause planned havoc. Recall how Arafat's 'Palestinians' living in Kuwait, acting on orders as a fifth column, collaborated with Saddam Hussein's army to capture Kuwait. Recall how the Palestinian Arabs joined in the pillage and rape, side by side with Iraqis soldiers ... In this coming war, Arafat's Palestinian Arab Police, in coordination with Hamas, will begin blowing up key targets, road junctions, preventing mobilization of Israel's civilian reserve soldiers from reaching their units at the front. In Judea and Samaria, roads will be mined and Israeli access blocked by shoulder-fired anti-tank missiles ..." (The U.S. House of Representatives' Task Force On Terrorism And Unconventional Warfare, it is entitled, 'Approaching the New Cycle of Arab-Israeli Fighting' , reported in NEWS1056)
But, God will deliver Israel. Remember, God is the greatest, most powerful Zionist in the world. Listen to Scripture:
""But Judah shall remain and be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation ... for the Lord dwells in Zion." [Joel 3:20-21)
Did you catch this pertinent revelation? "for the Lord dwells in Zion." People who hate the Jews and are trying to annihilate them on the basis of Anti-Zionist feelings should understand that God is the biggest Zionist in the world today, and shall be for eternity.
God says it again: "Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion..." (Psalm 9:11)
God says it again: "Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion." (Psalm 2:6)
God reiterates His love for Zion: "For God will save Zion" (Psalm 63:35)
"But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved." (Psalm 78:68)
"The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob." (Psalm 87:2)
"Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come." (Psalm 102:13)
We shall end our discussion about how much God loves Zion with these quotes:
"When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory." (Psalm 102:16) This verse is most significant because it reveals that Messiah Jesus shall return the second time once God builds up Zion!
"Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion." (Psalm 129:5)
The prophecies of Zion -- which includes the Temple Mount -- will be fulfilled to the letter. Listen:
"And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call." (Joel 2:30-32)
Please notice the pertinent portion of this promise: "in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance"!
Finally, God has protected Israel / Zion in another, most unusual, way. He has caused Global Freemasonry to weave her Luciferic religion in such a manner as to place great significance on the Temple Mount / Zion. We cover this in NEWS1643, entitled, "FERVENT MASONIC DESIRE TO REBUILD SOLOMON'S TEMPLE IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE EVENTS OF THE MID-EAST TODAY".
Listen to how serious Freemasonry considers the rebuilding of Solomon's Temple.
"Of all the objects which constitute the Masonic science of symbolism, the most important, the most cherished, by the Mason, and by far the most significant, is the Temple of Jerusalem. The spiritualizing of the Temple is the first, the most prominent and the most pervading, of all symbols of Freemasonry ... Take from Freemasonry its dependence on the Temple; leave out of its ritual all references to that sacred edifice, and to the legends and traditions connected with it, and the system itself would at once decay and die ... " ["Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry", by Albert Mackey, MD, 33º and Charles T. McClenachan, 33º, Revised Edition, by Edward L. Hawkins, 30º and William J. Hughan, 32º, Volume II, M-Z, published by The Masonic History Company, Chicago, New York, London, 1873, A.G. Mackey, 1927, by the Masonic History Company.]
Let us repeat the critical understanding that the noted 33º Masonic author, Albert Mackey, has just given us:
"Take from Freemasonry its dependence on the Temple; leave out of its ritual all references to that sacred edifice, and to the legends and traditions connected with it, and the system itself would at once decay and die ... "
Does Islamic leadership know that, when their armies attack Israel, all of Western Illuminati will be standing in the backgroudn to ensure that Israel will not perish? If Israel were to perish, Masonic plans to bring their Masonic Christ (Antichrist) to Jerusalem where he will rebuild Solomon's Temple on the Temple Mount would disappear forever.
All the armies, the air forces, the navies and the cutting edge weaponry of the West stand invisibly behind Israel.
The Arabs, therefore, will be fighting against God and Lucifer's minions called Illuminati!

Israel Today Staff Sunday, March 15, 2015 | The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court reaffirmed earlier this month that it is legal for Jews (and, therefore, Christians) to pray atop the Temple Mount, despite violent Muslim opposition.
That legal clarification came as part of a decision in the case of activist Yehudah Glick, who sued the Israel Police for banning him from the Temple Mount for a period of two years after he was filmed quietly uttering prayers while visiting the holy site in 2011. Glick, who survived a recent assassination attempt by a Muslim terrorist, charged the police with failing to uphold Israel’s laws regarding freedom of religious expression.
Israel’s Supreme Court had previously ruled that Jews do in fact have the right to pray in any and every place, as do adherents of all faiths, but that police could take measures to avoid violent Muslim backlashes atop the Temple Mount.
The Jerusalem court determined that the police had gone too far in its handling of Glick and other activists, and had crossed the line by impinging on Jews’ basic human rights. Glick was awarded nearly USD $150,000 in damages. His lawyer further told The Jerusalem Post that the ruling meant that “starting from today, all Jews are allowed to pray on the Temple Mount. There is no longer any crime in prayer itself.”
Still, many remained skeptical that non-Muslims would now be permitted to openly pray and worship atop the Temple Mount, especially after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last year assured the Muslim world that Israel would maintain the status quo there. In the upcoming April issue of Israel Today Magazine, we spoke with Glick regarding the attempt on his life and his continued commitment to bringing Jewish prayer and worship back to the Temple courts.

19 Mar 2015 By Melanie Batley - The historic victory for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week in a campaign defined by hard-line policies is prompting the Obama administration to consider a major shift in its strategy toward Israel. The White House on Wednesday suggested it could reverse its decades-old policy of using its veto in the United Nations Security Council to protect Israel. It could refuse to veto resolutions related to the Palestinians or introduce a measure of its own, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The U.S. could also lend its support to a two-state solution based on Israel's 1967 borders, a senior White House official told The New York Times. "We're currently evaluating our approach," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, according to the Journal. "We're not going to prejudge what we would do if there was a U.N. action."
The official speaking to the Times said: "The premise of our position internationally has been to support direct negotiations between Israelis and the Palestinians. We are now in a reality where the Israeli government no longer supports direct negotiations. Therefore we clearly have to factor that into our decisions going forward."

Mar 19, 2015 • By DANIEL HALPER - The U.S. government might impose sanctions on Israel or allow its greatest ally in the Middle East to be tried in the International Criminal Court, according to Politico. Michael Crowley reports:
Obama officials must now decide whether more international pressure on Israel can help bring a conservative Netanyahu-led government back to the negotiating table with the Palestinians — or whether such pressure would simply provoke a defiant reaction, as some fear.
Obama has other diplomatic options. He could expend less political capital to oppose growing momentum within the European Union to impose sanctions on Israel for its settlement activity. More provocative to Israel would be any softening of Obama’s opposition to Palestinian efforts to join the International Criminal Court, which the Palestinian Authority will formally join on April 1. Under a law passed by Congress, any Palestinian bid to bring war crimes charges against Israel at the court will automatically sever America’s $400 million in annual aid to the Palestinian Authority, although some experts suggested Obama could find indirect ways to continue some funding — even if only to prevent a dangerous collapse of the Palestinian governing body. Meanwhile, in other news, the U.S. government is making excuses for Iran's testing of its nuclear program. Bloomberg reports:
When nuclear monitors said Iran had started testing a single advanced centrifuge last year, some U.S. politicians and analysts jumped on the report as proof the Islamic Republic can’t be trusted.

Cairo (AFP) - The Arab League chief dismissed Wednesday as electioneering Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's vow to rule out a Palestinian state if reelected, saying there would be global pressure for a peace deal.
Netanyahu, whose Likud party won 30 seats in the 120-member parliament in Tuesday's vote, had pledged to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank and block creation of a Palestinian state if reelected.
The president will now decide which party leader to tap to form the next government, and Netanyahu looks best placed to do so.
Arab League chief Nabi Arabi put the premier's statements down to "electioneering."
Netanyahu's statements would "not be the policies of the future Israeli government," said the secretary general of the 22-nation bloc in an interview with AFP, adding: "we will have to wait and see." "I believe personally that he made that statement about... no two states to gain the votes of the extremists, particularly those Russian immigrants who went to Israel in the last 10, 15 years," Arabi said. Netanyahu, when asked by an Israeli interviewer if he would not allow the creation of a Palestinian state, had responded: "Indeed."
But Arabi said he expected stalled peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which broke down last year amid mutual recriminations, to resume after the next Israeli government is formed. "I think there will be enough pressure on any Israeli government that the situation as it is cannot continue; Israel is going to be a pariah," he said.
On Wednesday, Israeli deputy foreign minister Tzahi Hanegbi said that, if the Palestinian leadership "changed course," Likud would be willing to negotiate.

Associated Press By DAN PERRY - 3.18.2015 - JERUSALEM (AP) — Benjamin Netanyahu's apparent reelection puts Israel on a course toward ever deeper confrontation with the world. To govern, his Likud Party would need to depend on ultranationalists — a recipe for neither stability nor bold moves toward Mideast peace.
A period of some horsetrading looms. With Likud as well as rightist and religious allies, Netanyahu still only commands 57 out of 120 parliament seats. He must woo Moshe Kahlon, a relative newcomer to the big leagues of Israeli politics. Breaking away from Netanyahu's nationalist Likud two years ago after a falling out with the premier, he adopted a vaguely centrist platform and flirted with Isaac Herzog's more moderate Zionist Union. If he is non-aligned as he claims, then he holds the balance of power between Israel's traditional right and left blocs, each with just under half of parliament.
It is widely thought that it would be too awkward for the former Likud figure to crown the opposition unless Herzog's party enjoyed a cushion of several seats over Likud. Polls had suggested that would happen, but the actual vote count on Wednesday showed the opposite: Likud was ahead by 30-24 seats. If Kahlon does go with Netanyahu, it would give the hard-liner a fourth term that, if completed, would make him Israel's longest-serving leader, on par with the nation's founder David Ben Gurion.

3.18.2015 Ramallah (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) - Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas will work with any Israeli government that accepts the principle of a two-state solution, his spokesman said after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won a shock reelection victory. "It doesn't matter to us who the next prime minister of Israel is, what we expect from this government is to recognise the two-state solution," Nabil Abu Rudeina said in a statement.
"On this basis, we will continue to cooperate with any Israeli government that is committed to international resolutions," he said, adding that without such a commitment, any future peace negotiations would have "no chance".
On Monday, just hours before election campaigning formally closed, Netanyahu ruled out the establishment of a Palestinian state if reelected, effectively reneging on his 2009 endorsement of a two-state solution.
He also pledged to build thousands of homes for Jewish settlers in annexed Arab east Jerusalem to prevent any territorial concessions that would lead to the establishment there of a Palestinian capital.
Speaking to public radio on Wednesday, Netanyahu confidant Tzahi HaNegbi said that if the Palestinian Authority "changed its attitude" it would find "Likud's hand held out to resume dialogue".
He also denied that Netanyahu had ruled out the creation of a Palestinian state.

Reuters - By Nick Tattersall and Stephen Brown - 3.18.2015 - ISTANBUL/BERLIN (Reuters) - The United States still wants a negotiated political settlement in Syria that excludes President Bashar al-Assad, according to a senior U.S. envoy, but Washington's close ally Germany said talks with the Damascus government might still be necessary.
As German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier hosted talks of the coalition against Islamic State on Wednesday which included the U.S. special envoy John Allen, the pair appeared to contradict each other on how to handle Assad's government.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry raised concerns among Middle East allies who want Assad removed when he said on Sunday that the United States would have to negotiate with the Syrian president, who has been fighting Islamist and other rebels since 2011. The U.S. State Department that Kerry heads later maintained that he had not specifically referred to the Syrian leader, and that Washington would never bargain with him.
On Wednesday, Allen said Assad had no legitimacy as a ruler.
"General Allen reiterated that the United States position on Assad has not changed," the U.S. Embassy in Ankara said in a statement late on Tuesday after Allen held talks there. "The United States believes that he has lost all legitimacy to govern, that conditions in Syria under his rule have led to the rise of ISIL (Islamic State) and other terrorist groups, and that we continue to seek a negotiated political? outcome to the Syrian conflict that does not in the end include Assad." But Steinmeier was quoted in German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung on Wednesday as saying: "The only way to an end to the violence is via negotiations for a political solution, even if that makes talks with the Assad regime necessary."
Kerry's comments at the weekend drew condemnation in Turkey, one of Assad's most strident opponents, with Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu saying negotiating with the Syrian leader would be like shaking hands with Adolf Hitler.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition stressed its desire Wednesday to achieve peace with the Palestinians and other Arab states as he prepared to present his new government.,2506,L-4657073,00-html/
